Good Samaritan Community Garden - Mississippi
(Seed Package Recipient)

The Good Samaritan Community Center is a nonprofit social service agency helping families and individuals in crisis! They focus on food and clothing assistance, case management, information and referral, and food rescue!
During the 2024 garden season, we were able to acquire a $250 donation. We purchased the growing medium necessary for our salad tables as well as seeds for the garden. There were various garden activities that went on throughout the garden season.
Below are some of the events:
Fourth graders from St. Andrews assisted with weed, harvest Okra seeds, compost, transfer dirt into our containers and help clean up the Good Samaritan Community Garden.
River 6, Ameri Corp NCCC volunteers pull weeds and harvest fall peaches n’ cream corn, peppers, eggplant, and okra seeds in our Good Samaritan Community Garden.
Volunteer Saturday in July at The Good Samaritan Center. Volunteers along with youth from Parkway Hills United Methodist Church worked in our clothing closet and community garden.
Hinds and Millsaps Wellspring volunteers work in our crisis Food Pantry and bag up Good Samaritan Community Garden produce.
We are so grateful for the many volunteers, donations, and grant funds that we have been able to acquire, continues to make it possible to serve the community.
