We are excited to share the activities of the Vicksburg Community Garden in 2024, made possible by the $250.00 grant from Community Resources Connection, Inc. This funding played a crucial role in our fourth annual Youth Agricultural and Health Extravaganza Day, a free event that engaged community members in a day of learning.

Highlights included cooking demonstrations featuring produce grown from the grant-funded seeds, as well as container gardening and planting workshops. We also hosted nutrition classes in our teaching kitchen, utilizing garden produce in a program called “Eat the Rainbow” for children. This initiative educated young participants about healthy eating and fostered an appreciation for fresh, locally grown produce.
